Whether you're investigating for the first time or developing your skills, Eerie Pursuits gives you the tools and knowledge to investigate confidently and make sense of what you experience.

Built on best practice from 13+ years of paranormal investigation

Unexplained footsteps in an empty room. A mysterious figure captured in a photograph. An old building with a haunted reputation.

Ghost stories capture the imagination, and for many, the mystery ends there. For others, the story is only the beginning.

We don't tell you what to believe.
We help you investigate for yourself.

    Dr. Jo MacGugan

Jo is a social historian and paranormal investigator. Her first personal experience with the paranormal occurred in Edinburgh’s underground vaults, where she heard disembodied voices and footsteps. Since then, she has investigated reportedly haunted locations throughout the US and the UK, including the Conjuring House in Burrillville, Rhode Island, US; Belle Grove Plantation in Port Conway, Virginia, US; and Shepton Mallet Prison in Somerset, UK.

She has a keen interest in macabre history, especially cemeteries and burial culture, which led her to earn an MA in history and a PhD in medieval studies. Her current research focuses on the history of the haunted Oliver House in Middleborough, Massachusetts, US, and supernatural tales from the records of the Salem Witch Trials. Her goal is to seek the historical truth behind reported hauntings.

    Lara Millmow

Lara grew up hearing stories of unexplained phenomena in her grandmother’s childhood home, along with the family legend that the house was burned down following two unsuccessful exorcisms. She has also experienced ghost sightings herself, including an encounter with a cloaked figure at the site of a monastery destroyed during King Henry VIII’s Dissolution of the Monasteries in 16th-century England.

She brings extensive experience leading membership organisations, turning specialist knowledge into engaging learning experiences and building communities around shared interests.

At Eerie Pursuits, her ambition is to make paranormal investigation more accessible and foster a community of paranormal enthusiasts.
